College Town Touch down

Texas Tech is rumored to have spent a lot of money on their roster this season. This includes USC transfer running back Quinten Joyner.

Unfortunately for the Red Raiders and Joyner, he tore his ACL in practice today. His season for 2025 is over before it began.

Tahj Brooks was Texas Tech’s starter last season and he is now trying to earn a spot in the NFL after surpassing 1,500 yards in 2023 and 2024.

Replacing Brooks will prove more difficult after the loss of Joyner, but young players will now have an opportunity to prove their worth for Texas Tech. Cameron Dickey and J’Koby Williams are both sophomores that will likely split time in the backfield unless one of them emerges as a star. Each player was a three star prospect out of Texas.

Texas Tech opens their season on Saturday August 30th at 730pm eastern against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
